In this article, we will learn how to associate Macromedia Flash with ASP. We will develop a search engine that will enable us to search an MS Access database, handling the results with ASP and passing them to a Flash movie, which will be the interface of our application.
The application we will develop is a search engine for an online music shop that will allow a user to search a database for a song, album, or artist. If the user searches for a song, the search will return up to six results showing the song's name, the name of the album that includes the specific song, the year the album was released, and the name of the artist. With one click on the album's name, users can get more information about the album, and in the same way, they can obtain more information about the artist.
